Being an artist or arts-worker has always meant a life of impermanence and uncertainty. In response to the 2020 pandemic lockdowns and COVID-19 restrictions that led to heightened levels of unemployment, social isolation, financial insecurity, and disconnection from support systems in this community; our client-informed, guided response was to provide hope, support, and tangible tools to help strengthen individual's resilience and growth by making mental health and wellness services accessible.
Through our ARTS program we provide group and one-on-one counseling that is facilitated by licensed psychotherapists to support visual and performing artists. We service under-resourced artists and arts-workers who are in need of mental health and wellness support. Our program facilitators are Licensed Clinical Social Work therapists (LCSW) and Master of Social Work therapists (MSW) from New York’s leading universities. Our clinicians undergo regular professional development and advanced training experiences to ensure the ARTS initiative provides a transformative impact on the individuals and communities we serve.
Additionally, while uplifting and resourcing mental health and wellness opportunities for the arts community, we seek to address years of marginalization and structural inequities faced by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists and arts-workers by actively recruiting and holding space for members within these populations.
We offer in person and online options to maximize accessibility for individuals in program.
